Notes: Absolutely stunning. Even though there was very little snow so we weren't really snowshoeing per say, it was beautiful. We came across this lake that was frozen over and silent aside from the wind going through the trees. Standing there in the middle of it, surrounded by mountains, was the most calming feeling. There's something about being out of the city, away from the cars, and standing in a spot where you are so small. The unexplained bliss that comes from that kind of silence overtook me. Its not the kind of silence that comes from laying in your bed. Its the kind of silence where the only living, moving things around you are the plants and animals. The things that don't rely on electricity. That don't worry about what others are thinking. They just are. I wish I could put the feeling into words but I just cannot. To look over and see a tear of happiness streaming down your friends face. To feel such peace with anything and everything. To be completely contempt with life. I love it all.
